Description
Red Helm swung his chainsaw around, forcing Taskmaster to roll out of the way. He rolled once again as a metal fist slammed onto the ground, creating further cracks on the already damaged platform. The claws from his only non-mechanical arm grazed the old man's mask, out of panic he aimed the barrel of his shotgun at the wire-covered opening on the cyborg's wrist. The shots pierced the wire, forcing him to back away. The exhausts on the mechanical giant spluttered with smoke as he ran to gore Taskmaster onto the wall, he had barely enough time to slide underneath. He aimed at another opening on the thigh, wounding him further as the cyborg crashed against the cold metal. He had to get to higher ground, untie the tank from the fleshy tendrils restraining it. There were no means of getting up there as he quickly observed the area, no stairs, elevators or giant beasts to help him here. All of a sudden, Red Helm grabbed him by the waist with his claw, holding him high into the air. He grinned as he opened his mouth, revealing jagged dark teeth and a rotten tongue. In any other situation he would be dead, but this stupid fool had given him an idea. A bad idea, but the only one that could guarantee the success of their mission.
Closing his eyes, he pressed the tip of the barrel against the metal cylinder that was his eye and fired. The explosion almost broke his shotgun, but it was enough to render half of the brute's head a bloody mess of brain matter and wires. He roared in agony and let go of the old man, out of instinct he grabbed the giant fur cloak with his free hand. The old man was dangling by a thread as the monster swung around in a blind rage, but now there was an opening. He jumped across and grabbed the the rim of the tank's incendiary barrels, before climbing his way up across the swaying hunk of weapons and engines.
He climbed into the rattled interior of the tank, making sure not to fall down as he navigated the gears and wires. The bomb was wedged in between the interior table and chair, glowing a bright red. The remote he had created alongside the bomb in the time he had was right next to it. With heavy breaths he turned the makeshift dials around to make sure that the bomb would create a big enough explosion, before snatching the remote and tucking in into his belt.
He heard the roars stop, followed by sounds of thumping. A metal hand burst out from the front, frantically reaching out to grab the old man. One the claws scraped his back, leaving a large cut across it. He climbed out and saw that the wendigo was climbing up the tank too, he jumped upwards as his chainsaw pierced into the opening of the tank, causing sparks to fly out everywhere. Taskmaster climbed all the way to the back of the hoisted tank and saw a small bridge next to it, holding his breath he jumped across. He rolled over and found himself bordering the edge, with weary legs he got up and looked back.
Red Helm had climbed up to the back, his torso visible as he dug his feet deep into the tank. His metal claw dug into the back in order to hold on, while he prepared his chainsaw to swipe at the old man. The tendrils were beginning to weaken and strain under the combined weight of both.
"You-cannot-escape-my grasp, you-will-die-here. My-master-has-made-me-into-a-powerful-creature, you-only-have-a-gun...it-will-not-save-you." Red Helm spoke, his voice jagged and pained. Taskmaster winced as the cold air brushed against his wound, it stung bad. He took out his shotgun and reloaded it, his other hand fumbling around in his belt.
"Your 'Monarkh' may have made you powerful, but you lack one thing soldier must always have...a knife!" He pulled out the knife and threw it towards one the tendrils, while he fired his shotgun towards another. Both snapped from the impacts, and Red Helm's mouth dropped in horror as the tank fell down onto the platform. There was a sick crunching noise as the tank fell onto him before the platform finally gave way under the impact, causing the both of them to fall into the dark abyss.
"That was only good knife, take care of it down there!" He remarked, before running across the bridge to get away from here as far as possible. Through countless hallways he managed to find himself back in the snow, it was silent, the demon must have led most of the horde to her. He looked at the remote in his wrinkled hand as he ran.
"Launch aborted, undead bastards-"
And with a single press of a button, the fate of this place was sealed.
