Description
The large basket that Hageshi had carried was softly placed on the sandy ground as the oni dipped her feet into the shallow river, the calm waters felt cooling upon her strong legs as they sunk further. Sometimes she would feel something nipping at her toes roaming such places, some small, brave predator causing a slight irritation; it was nothing a good stomp could remedy. She trudged across the vast river, her spear gripped tight. Many years ago, she would have been neck deep in such waters and would have to use her arms to swim across, but now traversing these rivers was but a simple walk.

Hageshi peered into the waters and splashed into it with a free hand, the supple skin pressed up against her fingers telling her that she had caught something decently sized. She raised her hand up to get a better look at the creature, it was a small purplish thing with plenty of tentacles sticking to her red skin. This was that “octopus” Ikari was wanting. She understood why Ikari wanted them, Hageshi had tasted the flesh of this creature before she knew its true name. Not much flesh but it made up for it with its salty taste, but knowing Ikari she would instead cook such a thing.

With a quick movement of her arm and wrist she flung the creature backwards, it flew up through the air before landing into the large basket back on the shore. A ripple in the water caught her attention, with a mighty thrust she speared the ripple. She had caught another octopus, whose head was impaled upon the stone tip. Blood seeped down from the octopus and dripped down into the water, a sight of which Hageshi could not resist looking at. She licked the bloodied skin of the creature, letting the viscous red fluid trail down her tongue. She had grown up with the taste of fresh blood and it always invigorated her spirit in dull times. With another flick of the wrist she marked the second octopus in the basket.

One by one, she slowly cleared the area and the basket filled up more and more with slimy, writhing octopuses. Hageshi gave an amused glare towards the basket, she must have stumbled across their habitat for there to be so many. It was easier finding such things in the water than land, which was something to consider for any future hunts. Her amusement was cut short by the water couple of meters away, it began to slowly bulge up across the river before fading back down. This sight stirred a fire in the oni's heart for this body of water had more than just her and the octopuses, whatever it was it looked as huge as her.

"Something worth Hageshi's time..." She thought to herself as she forced her way through towards the area with a hungry smile creeping up across her face. This day would not go uneventful.
