The growing light sky brightened the mountainous sides of the great skull carved mountain, alongside the crimson red skin of an awakened Hageshi. Wild grey hair swayed about amidst the wind like the tendrils of a ferocious squid. Cool air brushed against the face of Hageshi as she hung along the side of an earthen rock cliff, with one hand gripping deep into it and one foot to provide stability at such a great height. She was able see more of the land while she was like this, if she was in the right position, and provided her better means to spot her prey.

Clouds traversed the clear skies and birds were abundant at times like these, flying across the lands and around the red oni herself. She looked at those bold creatures that dared to fly so close to her, a mistake she would punish them for by clamping her maw upon a group of them. A trickle of blood dripped down her mouth as the rest of the birds scattered. They were small and had very little meat to offer her, but in a land like this she would take what she needed to keep her going.

A ray of golden light struck her eye, causing her to wince and block it with her free hand. She had thought it was the sun at first, but a closer glance revealed the source of the light. A golden orb pulled by a turtle moved across the distant earth below, surrounded by other turtles and a particularly large one with a weapon upon its back.

She had once found a seam of gold when she was smaller from traversing the great caverns beneath the mountains, where creatures small as her dwelt. That wondrous chunk she ripped from it peaked her curiosity for a time, until she crushed it within her grip. To see such a sight again, she wanted to bring it back.

But Ikari would say no to it, she thought. Ikari did not like Hageshi meddling with the kappa people, no matter how shiny and pretty that golden orb was. She would just have to watch until it disappeared from sight, but all of a sudden another strange thing caught her attention.

Something was lurking along the smaller mountains in the distance, growing closer to the group of turtles at a great speed. At first she thought it to be a vicious beast but as it grew closer she recognised it was not a beast but an oni imitating a beast, wielding a large club that rested upon his shoulders. His wild hair, the great scar across his chest, the piercing yellow eyes behind that tusked skull mask told her that this oni was tough. She thought her and Ikari were the only ones living in this land, but this vast land appeared to house more oni than she first thought.

Though she barely knew him or his goals, she understood with his movements that he intended to attack the turtles. To attack that golden orb! Though she had no concern for the kappa people below, a growing fire burned within her chest. She really wanted to fight this guy, to taste his strength and have the chance to tear him apart with her bare hands.

The golden orb seemed like a good reason to start a fight such as that, she thought to herself. With that in her mind she quickly climbed down the side of the great mountain, her fingers digging deep into the rock as she jumped and navigated the uneasy terrain. On this day the red oni had a new hunger, not for prey but for the inevitable fight.
