Fix Dina's roof? Check. Help out with building Dylan's new house? Check. A day in the life of Isabeth was plentiful with tasks to do for the good comrades of Sentinel Peak, for they had given their lives and generations to cultivate this hidden town, and it was her duty to give back in return. The mental list she had placed in her mind was just about all finished up, now to finish the last task: to get materials for a new boiler. She threw a small bag of coins upon the counter, spooking the tech merchant who owned this humble stall.

"Materials, boiler, now." Isabeth delivered with the stern manner of a battle-hardened general, the bearded goggle-eyed man behind the stall replied by crouching down onto the floor, the demon tapped her finger upon the cold concrete as all manners of banging and smashing were heard across the stall. Her ear twitched at the sounds of fast feet upon the snow, her eyes shifted around to find the source but by then the sound died.

She looked down to see that a small child had rested upon her thigh, in her mind she groaned.

"Little Vik, you are shifty as usual." The girl nervously giggled as she faintly waved up at the towering demon.

"For the last time it is Viktoriya, and I'm not little!" She pouted as Isabeth placed her hand and rubbed it upon the girl's scraggly hair, Vik simply blew off the hairs that dangled into her eyes and pouted. The sentinel simply smiled as she lifted her up to her shoulders with a simple finger.

"And I am not big, so we are equal in size. Why are not with your grandad?" She asked, the girl yawned as her hands wrapped around the horns of Isabeth, playing around with them as if they were the handlebars of a bicycle.

"He was busy with his ships, so I thought I'd do a little work myself like a good comrade!" Isabeth felt the girl's chin resting upon her forehead, out of all the residents of the town Vik was the one who had guts, no one in their right mind would mess around with Isabeth.

"You are good comrade regardless, so why have you come to me? You are not only kid here." She raised her eyebrow a monometer as the girl crawled over the demon's hair to look her straight in the eyes.

"Mayor wants ya, he wanted me to tell ya that." The sentinel rolled her eyes, the fucking mayor...again.

"Right, what does he want this time? I am not his secretary."

"Says it's urgent." The girl wrapped her arms around the demon's broad neck, staring at her with the eyes of a puppy. Clearly she wanted a ride on her back along the way, it was a pointless task but she could not refuse such a little girl. She snorted as she pointed her finger towards the tech merchant.

"Fine, only this time. You, keep materials for later, I will be back for them." He nodded as he placed the materials below the counter, before the valuable junk to his side fell onto his back. Next time he would ask the demon to find a better place to store his things.

Isabeth is almost finished with her day's work, but an urgent message from the mayor interrupts her routine. He had better have a good reason for summoning her, or god knows what she'd do.
