Description
This character is from the Russian (Soviet) animation "The Nutcracker". She is Clara more or less, but has a rather different role than usual. Instead of being one of the many children celebrating around the Christmas tree, she is a young maid who comes along to clean once all the festivities are over.
Instead of drawing her as a maid as she appears in the beginning or as a princess as she becomes one at the end... I decided to simply draw her in between. She is of the same status as all the children celebrating Christmas in the begining of the animation.
While keeping the same color scheme as her maid attire, I colored her more intensely as well as shaded her. The color's were quite washed out in the animation and her skin looked white. Well, now it is all brought out.
The dress is very similiar to her maid outfit. It is the same color, has the same sleeves and poofy skirt. Despite this, it is of "better quality" and has a lined bodice. Other than defining the lips and giving them shade, she is pretty much of the same design as in the animation. I was oddly fond of it.
