Description
The whole title to this fanart is actually "The Good, The Bad and the Powerful" but it wouldn't all fit in the field. This was a birthday gift I sent to a very good friend of mine.
In the screen shot I used for Optimus, about half of his upper left arm (his left, which would be our right) was missing, so I actually had to use the toy as a reference to finish it. I think it came out all right but some of the angles look a little off. Ah well.
Medium:
Mechanical Pencil
References:
Beast Wars Season One & Season Three DVD's
Optimal Optimus toy
(I never remember to jot down which episodes I get my screen shots from but I'm sure their poses look familiar to you fellow fans.)

Ooooo. An interesting choice, Sharky. Yes, you may! I can't wait to see this one. And make sure Primal looks better than Megatron because Primal's the best.

Hi there! I just have a little request for you: can I use the colored of this pict (yeah, the one I tried and colored some time ago) for a little stamp I have in mind to do?
I will need only for Optimus though

Gotta love the contrast between these two; they're on different sides and yet, though they won't admit it, there's attributes about them both that's similar to the other. I kinda miss original Optimus's look though, his Transmetal form just isn't doing it for me now that I'm re-watching the series. XD; Not that it's awful, but I love how his original one was somwhat reminiscent of the original G1 Optimus.

Indeed!
I agree, DoD. I definitely like Primal's original body in the first season. I liked the design and how he transformed, and of course, how he resembled Prime.

Thank you! Yes, it's all freehand. I have references from the show, of course, but I don't do any tracing. I take screen shots from the DVD's, then display them on my monitor (or my laptop's screen, usually) and draw everything by looking at the screen. Poof! LoL Detailed ones like these take forever sometimes.

OMG, I do that same thing! The two Inuyasha pics I have on here are those kind of drawings.
I used to trace when I was first starting out, I would even put the sheet of paper up on the tv screen and trace the image!lol Then I learned more from classes and books. lol
Yeah, if you wanna make an exact duplicate, they take a while to do. I have a few Inuyasha collages that aren't done yet that I should get done, hehe.
I swear it sometimes all depends on what kind of drawing mood yer in!

LoL Awesome! And those Inuyasha drawings are really good!
You aren't alone. I used to trace as well when I was little, but then I took a step forward on my own and challenged myself to look off of the reference instead of "cheating." LoL
Oooo. Inuyasha collages? I can't wait to see those when you finish them.
Oh, it does! I'm not always in the drawing mood. Sometimes it takes me a while to get started.

I guess the art mood that's hard for me to get started into is painting. I paint with acrylics, but I guess I'm more moved to work on my stories and the pictures for those stories cause I want to see them turned into either movies or theater plays. So I try to finish them by myself.
I also got a handful of funny and serious transformers pics in the works too. There's one of Cybertron Galvatron after a really cute girl bot gave him a little kiss on the cheek plate and he's got steam coming like (FSSSHHH!) out from his colar, with little twinkles and hearts floating around his head with the funniest love struck face you'd ever see! LOL! And Optimus is along side leaning in towards one of the minicons saying "I think Galvatron's in love." and the minicon says, "I think that's an understatment!" LOL! I even can't wait to get it done! It's crazy! lol!
There's another one I can't wait to get done too of Galvatron at a late night dance party bebop'n with his other Decepticon buddies and at the bottom, the main verse of Without Me by Eminem! LOL!

I usually paint with acrylics too! It's difficult for me to get into the mood of painting. Drawing is just faster and easier for me.
That's really cool that you want your stories turned into movies or plays! I'll be an actress in your movies! LoL That would be awesome.
Oooo, I can't wait to see these TFs pics you speak of! Hilarious!

Definatly! My latest story I been working, you might've read about it in my journal on the front page of my folder, but I've recently decided to change the title to simply Guardians. One of the characters in it would be about your age is Lidia, the Knight of Wolves. I betchya you could do that character pretty good!
As soon as I get enough saved up, I'm planning to go to school for computer animation, filming and theater at Northern Michigan Universtiy, since that's the nearest school to me that teaches along the lines of what I wanna learn. Hopfully then, I'll be able to start the Guardians project.
There's also a Zoids story that I wanna make into a movie too.
But first, I gotta actually finish these stories! lol!

Lidia, Knight of Wolves? That's interesting because wolves happen to be my favorite wild canine.
That would be awesome, D-A. Man, I wish I had taken theater or acting instead of digital art. I think I've found a place in NY that could very well help my interest in voice acting, I just need to figure out how and when to do it aside from the full-time job I already have now. I really hope you get into animation, filming and theater and can start your Guardians project, which sounds awesome, by the way. Just make sure you know what you really want to do with your life instead of wasting time and money like I seem to have done.
And finish those stories!

I always thought Digital art's pretty cool, course i never took any class in it, just taught myself with my paintshop program here at home. lol
That's awesome that you found something to help you with Voice Acting!
I should think a place like NY would be a good place to start.
Oh yeah, I definatly made sure to take my time and think about what I really wanna do, instead of running off to College right after High School and trying to make a decsion during that time. Plus my Mom was gonna be having knee replacement surgeries done with both knees, so she was gonna need help after that and I certainly wasn't gonna let my Dad do it all on his own. We just never thought that would turn into such an endavor that's going on to this day. But that's a whole another story for another day.
Yeah I was up until 3, 4am again last night working on the Guardians story from beginning to end. When a new idea for a story comes to me, it comes in peices, so there's always a ton of gaps to fill in and tie together so it makes scence. So I'm attempting to write this story straight from beginning to end without jumping ahead.
I'm just not entirely sure how I'm gonna get my stories and talent known, or where to send demos and such, except to go to college and start there. I already tried to submit an idea to Hasbro, but they couldn't take any outside ideas for some strange reason.
Well anyway, it just means I gotta keep drilling!

I should think NY is a great place to start as well since it's the only big name close to me unlike Los Angeles. LoL Actually, they're shooting some of the Transformers 2 movie in Bethlehem, PA which is ten minutes down the road from me, and in Philadelphia, PA which is about an hour south, so I'm hoping I get in somewhere and land a role as an extra or something. I'm very excited about this. They're supposed to start filming in June.
That's true. I think it's good to be delayed going to college to think things through. I think I kind of rushed it. I wish I had took more time looking for places like the one in NY for voice acting instead just jumping into art only to realize after I graduated that aren't any jobs in my area for it. And I don't really feel like doing digital art anymore. I'd much rather be in a cartoon or something. That's really sweet of you to help your dad take care of your mom, though. I don't even talk to my dad anymore, even if I'm around him. But that's a whole other story that's very, very long and confusing.
I don't know what to do either when it comes to making my talents known. I think the internert is actually a good place to start because you can upload anything on here like headshots, demos, and art and simply e-mail everything to producers and the like. But I don't know how you get their contact information. LoL Strange how Hasbro couldn't take any "outside ideas." Maybe it's some sort of legal copyright thing or they didn't want to pay you.

SWEET!!! That'd be soooo awesome if you landed a roll! Let me know so I can look for you when the movie comes out! lol
I remember when Jeff Daniels came up to Escanaba, MI. to film Escanaba In Da Moonlight, that's about 2 hours north of me in northeast Wisconsin here, and my uncle went to try out for a side roll. Jeff asked him "Can you act drunk?" and my uncle said "Hell I'm drunk right now!" LOL!!! The whole place roared!
Well I won't ask you to tell yer story with yer Dad if it hurts too much.
I wouldn't have you go through that.
All I can think of for making yerself and talents known is something like what David Kaye did before he got into voicing cartoons which was giving Garry a demo tape to listen to and everything else it history.
Pays to have connections I guess. lol
I got Hasbro's contact info just by going to their website and looking for a way of contacting them. It dosen't surprise me one bit that Hasbro didn't even consider my idea. I only went to them first cause they were the ones to buy Zoids from the original creators and make em' into TV shows.
Course my idea's to make it a live action movie! Really makes me wish I could make my ideas come to life.
Yeah they probably didn't wanna pay me for it, LOL!
I would think by searching around online and making demos would be a way to go until you land a hit somewhere.
I waited on school cause I just couldn't find anything that taught what I wanted to learn until just the Summer after I grauated High School.
I heard of Full Sail University in Winter Park, FL. that strictly teaches animimation, filming, game design, music and sound recording, and so on. But they don't teach voice over thought. that's all that's missing from that place.
I didn't think I could afford to take that big of a leap, so I tried looking for something more closer and I found something along those lines at the same college where my Dad went to, and right under my nose!
So I'm looking at that.
