of course you can hear colors. GOSH. i thought everyone knew that...
seriously, tho. colors and sounds are very closely linked in my mind. i don't see how that's abnormal
and i have an old taktell metronome - mine's in this metal box thing that opens and then there's the metronome, all a part of the box...very old. still works, most of the time.

Yeah, I hear them too. The connection and the collaboration between colors and sound is very close for me also. I have a bunch of this metronomes as well, but hate to use them so I just rather play rhythm-less 
I remember we had one just like you described in music school where I took theory & other classes when I was younger and there was that teacher we all didn`t like very much, so we had always put the metronome on the edge of her desk so when she would start conducting and pounding on the desk the metronome would fall of in all its glory
Now, when I`m a bit older and more mature (maybe, haha), she`s my singing teacher and I told her about our little-evil-metronome procedure and she was laughing like crazy and than said with relief that she`s glad the secret is solved and that there were no mighty spells and witchcrafts involved.

haha, we all tortured our early music teachers.....it's a thankless task, i'm tellin ya.
my metronome doesn't get used really at all....but it's kinda cool looking. i used to practice for band with it, but i'm not in band any more, so weeeeh. no metronome!

band = marching band, and i played clarinet. i still play clarinet, but it's in random jazz bands around town instead of marching band (thank god).

Hey, the composition is like that with a simple reason - this actually is a flyer for one of the exhibition that I`m planing to do very soon so it must have some space for basic things to write on, like when and where is gonna happen etc, etc.
Speaking of a quality I really think it`s rather ok, my plan was to get the notes on the sheet quite easily visible and the swinging thing on the metronome in the position in which you can see it`s actually moving. And also, a bit grainy background works for me very well.
I love your idea of mathematics formula of music although I still think that music should come from the hart it`s also necessary to have some basic knowledge about music theory and the other must-learn stuff.
