Explanation for Shuei's outfit:
A regular robe is worn on top of a suit of armour, such that the right arm is in armour, and the left arm is covered by a long sleeve. This is to represent the soldier-scholar, one who excels in both fields.
Yuefei, a Song Dynasty hero, is usually depicted dressed in this way. Example: [link]
Shuei's armour is referenced from the Korean tv drma series The Legend ... [link]

Lately everyone's been drawing instead of sleeping. I wonder why.
Ah, I had that once, too. The humans took 1 day, while the background took 4 more days to complete. xD I haven't worked on such a detailed background since then. -You should keep painting these great backgrounds, though.
I've heard of Twelve Kingdoms, but no, I don't really know it. (If it were kid you saying it, it would've been pretty creepy
