Sketchup is a free program but I think it can totally compete with some of the 'big boys' like Blender. I created my 'Lewis and Clark' in Sketchup!

It is a fantastic program, personally I like the really easy to use interface, most of it you can just figure out with trial and error.

Hehe, man I am so thick. For a couple of minutes there I really was trying to figure out how you pronounced "1bob01" as "I want one of those", hehe.
No man I should be thanking you, you've made some fantastic SketchUp ship models, especially the Autumn, I'm really envious of your modelling skills man.
And your new work is great, especially the other Halcyon Ship images (I really like the Halo Ships).
How do you do it? Modelling ships of such detail in SketchUp, it must take ages?

Lol yeah my username for Devart is pretty crappy, and thanyou for the compliments. I can tell you now that first and foremost youtube has been an invaluble reasource, without it I wouldn't be the modeler I am toady. On the time side of things, it depends on the model for the you see on my Devart it took me about a week on and off, for things like the Enterprise and the normandy it takes usually between 1 and 3-ish months.

Cool man, I knew making the better, more detailed, models would take that kind of time, but damn...
And YouTube you say, that Tutorials on YouTube or reference videos?

Tutorial mostly, but sometimes I use it for reference, by the way the program I use is called Cinema 4D, though I have been told there is some really good freeware called Blender.

I've heard of Blender, some people have been able to do some impressive things with the program.

Indeed I have used it myself once or twice in the past, never quite got the hang of it though....
