Fortune history:

For the first few years of her life, Leona Marquee lived with her parents in Beverly Hills. Her father, a prominent member in a national electronics company, wasn't around often, but her mother made sure to spend time with her daughter every day.

They're all sketches, so I'll probably scrap them later.

Unfortunately, due to of suspicions (about drugs and genetic manipulation) concerning her due to the fact that her left eye remains to this day completely black, her parents left the tabloids of the US and went on a world tour when she turned 7. They left her at a boarding school in Asia, and visited her infrequently after that. It was a big change from her former lifestyle. She disappeared a few days after her 12th birthday, and after two years of looking, she was officially pronounced dead.

4 and 1/2 years later, she showed up in America, looking for others who had powers like herself.

Her martial arts skills easily reached the equivalent of black-belt, but her true power lay with her black, "witch eye".

Her powers consist of being able to see things other people can't, such as energy traces, energy lines (which she is now learning to manipulate), Power residue (and residue signatures), and she can see strong feelings towards others (they're color coded). She also has limited telepathic abilities but very little control over them, and can see directly into any mind she chooses that isn't blocked, as long as she has direct eye contact with her black eye. She can only truly communicate with other Telepaths and it drains her physically as well as mentally to do so. This can cause a great deal of trouble for her, especially when seeing into an evil mind, because she gets the full brunt of everything that person is thinking or what the person has done. Sometimes, she can literally relive their memories, and can cause them to relive said memories as well.

For months, she wouldn't talk about where she "disappeared" to before she got to America, and few people she met really questioned it as she always seemed to have an encouraging smile. Anyone who gets to know her will discover that that smile is nothing more than a mask.

When she finally started talking about her past, her new-found friends get a glimpse at her very serious side. She had been taken in and trained in many art styles (from visual to martial) as well as the equivalent to other high-school classes, but in return she would be forced to torture people for the woman who took her in.

To torture others, she would look into their mind and finding their worst fear. After so many of these cases, she started to lose herself as well as her sanity, but her teacher insisted that she continue. When she started to almost enjoy it, it scared her more than anything else ever had in her entire life, so she finally turned on her teacher and fled, hoping to find somewhere that she could begin to redeem herself from the horrible things she'd done to others.
