Instead of staying up until 4am setting up extras, I ran this simple test. I've got a full scene in mind of a figure drawing class at the Jedi Academy. I mean... why can't there be elective courses?Patreon

Working with emissive shaders to get the color to show instead of just whiting out is so difficult for me! How do you do it!?

Hi. I don't completely understand your question.
I start with Iray Real Lights, then adjust. What are you having to white out?

I should have clarified. Whenever I'm trying to get the color to show through on the laser swords, the blade just ends up white.

Ok. I replace the lightsaber 'blade' with a cylinder with the emmissive shader. If I'm feeling really strongly about it, I'll do a second render with just the real blades to get a little of the gradation in the color effect and overlay it on the shader blade. I didn't here, as it was a test.Β

Thank you! I fell in love with lightsabers highlighting muscle. I ran out of reasons to do portraits of shirtless Jedi, so I stopped pretending to have a reason.
