Yes is possible. But is not as good as Openbox. Only because the windows would open and go to the top left corner everytime. Let's say you open 3 terminals at once. They would all open on that corner and stack up on each other. You can make them open in the center of the screen but they still stack up. But it still works fine as a floating workspace for me.
My default tag is set to layout = "free"
But you can set any tag to what ever form you want Example, [tag] name = "Tiles" layout = "tile_left" [/tag]
