Description
Sunrise illuminates the strange, twisted hoodoos found inside the Devil's Garden, Escalante, Utah, USA.These natural rock formations remind me somewhat of the Easter Island statues.

An apt analogy. I'd never thought of the Easter Island statues as natural formations... but wouldn't that be something? It'd really give they anthropologists something to think about

While I like both shots of the hoodoos, I do like this better than the other shot, mostly because of the grass in the foreground. Gives a mix of textures and colors. This one also has the excellent lighting going on the rocks and the sky beyond.

so these shots come down to composition.... they are all good but my gut says this one... its very surreal... the rocks are strong and the grass is soft.... works!

Oh yes, for sure. But, not in our lifetime... it will take a while.
