Mortem is the twin of Exitus and they're both the adopted children of Reaper.

fun fact about their names, Mortem is latin for death and Exitus is latin for demise.

i thought it'd be cool and fitting for two children adopted by the personification of death XD

Mortem and Exitus share the same power which is similar to Reaper's abilities.

They can kill people by touching them but they can control that power and can either cause pain or sickness if they wanted to, even going so far as to not cause any of that from touch if they really hold back their powers. of course their powers don't affect gods or really powerful monsters like other outcodes (they are also unaffected by Reaper's touch much like Geno)

Reaper and the two children are on the run from Reapertale!Toriel as she went a little child crazy after meeting them and refuses to allow Reaper to be any sort of caretaker to them seeing Reaper's powers and past history (RT!Chara).
