Anyone who knows me knows its a VERY rare occasion where I draw fan art, but every once in awhile there's a character out there that's special enough that I can't let them get by. In this case, it's Scorpia from Netflix's She-Ra reboot. Scorpia is exhibit A in how to create a character that plays against type - whereas most physically-imposing amazonian types would be dour, aloof, and self-serious, Scorpia comes off as an extremely likable hybrid of Overwatch's Zarya and Fargo's Marge Gunderson. She's an important step in the process of breaking character stereotypes - some of which I've perpetuated myself over the years. In a lot of ways I think Andrah would've been a lot like her if she'd ever made it to film, which is likely part of the reason I've found her such a relatable character. This was just a quick sketch, something to do in between comms while I wait for season four.
