:What it is?
Okay, so I promised to explain this contest further in past journals and polls. So here is the best explanation I have for you, if you have any questions feel free to comment.

The contest is titled "Something New". By that we mean that you just have to try something new for yourself.

It's a very open ended contest and is meant to help you grow as an artist.

You never know if you like something until you try it.

Something new can really be anything, I find the best way to explain it is through examples.

Examples
If you draw traditional you could try a new medium, such as, if you use pencil you could try chalk or acrylic paint.

If you draw anime/manga style, you could try to do a more realistic style.

If you draw animals you could draw people, or vice versa.

If you do digital art and always find your colors from another picture, this time try to do it on your own.

Also, if you do digital art you could try a new color palette.

Essentially just change something up and challenge yourself.

Rules
On your submission you need to write what you did differently.

If we cannot find what is different about your submission we won't be able to count it.

We will be monitoring the submissions and checking them against what you usually upload to determine if you did do something different.

PLEASE do not just do the same thing you always do and try to pass it off as something different.

Submit your art to the folder titled, "Contest".

If you don't submit it to the correct folder it will not be judged and we would hate for you to go through the trouble of making a piece of art that didn't get judged!

Winners
We will narrow the submissions down to the top 10 within the administrators.

You as group members will then vote on the 10 submissions.

The top voted will receive a premium membership, the length of which is up to the discretion of the admin member.

The next four will receive points.

1st point winner: 30 points

2nd point winner: 20 points

3rd point winner: 15 points

4th point winner: 10 points

All 10 will receive a feature in the journal that will announce all the winners.:

What I did differently in this picture is pretty much everything... In the past i used a plugin known as Glitterato to generate some pretty simple-looking space backgrounds. I wasnt very skilled at using Photoshop back then, so i lacked the knowledge of how to properly use brightness and contrast, and blending, and the color palette, and layering, and gradients... pretty everything...

For 5 months I relied on my lack of knowledge and entirely on Glitterato,.. that was until it broke... and i had to search through somethin like 16 hours worth of tutorials to learn how to properly use Photoshop and draw amazing space art like this one.
i learnt how to use custom brushes, and use textures to give birth to planets... I followed those tutorials, and this image is merely an image where i tested out such skills.
