So beautiful! I like the pose you've chosen. They look perfect together. So sweet.

Thank you so much!

(Yeah, I love the whole dynamic between the two of them. Merlin looks/acts so gentle, but he generally protects Arthur from dangerous magical beasties. Arthur looks/acts so tough, and he has spent his whole life protecting things as a knight, and it's what he DOES...so he wants to protect Merlin... It's just an interesting thing going on...)

Yeah, I also don't think that Arthur would change that much if a relationship between him and Merlin started up. You've got a really nice closeness between the characters here and it looks relaxed.

Not only do you have a great talent for realism drawing, you're also great using this media, which I understand can be a little tricky to use and get the hang of. The scan has also come up really well, which is great because it means we can see how fantastic your artwork really is.

Awww, thank you.

I was using oils, then decided to try learning how to use acrylics. Because of the drying time, texture and the different depth of colour to them, they are a completely different kettle of fish. I like them, but they are a bit tricky.

(Our last printer/scanner finally died, so we had to buy a new one. It's only a cheapest machine we could find, but it's still streets ahead of the old one. *G*)

That's really good! It's sensitive but I like how you've kept them both masculine.

Thanks, I don't think being in a relationship with Merlin would change Arthur TOO much, he would still act very much the Alpha male. *G*

This is brilliant, you've portrayed so much through their poses alone and again you've got their likeness down exactly. You're very talented in this medium! :D

Thank you so much, I REALLY appreciate you saying so. I was trying to get emotion over in their poses. (Arthur almost aggressively possesive, Merlin perhaps REALLY tired of always being alert and strong and the protector, and just wanting to be protected himself for once.)

You've definately got that across Arthur has a real sense of "you'd have to get through me to get him, he's mine" about him, and Merlin is more "yeah okay, I'll let you believe that for now, but I protect you too".

I'm glad I happened to be looking at the "newest" artwork section right now, or I'd have missed this. I've only seen bits of the show, but I know what the characters look like and this is incredible. And how sweet. A very good painting, and refreshing when the site is full of so much digital rather than traditional art.

Thank you very much. Digital art is great too of course, (although I'm hopeless with computers and couldn't make any), but I find the process of using actual paint and brushes is very enjoyable in itself.

I'm just discovering digital art myself. It's pretty much all I put up on the site though--I have a hard time taking good pictures of or scanning my traditional artwork. If you have a tablet (mine is a wacom bamboo pen and touch, which comes with photoshop elements), you can draw on the computer as if you're painting, but it's really not the same, and it takes a while to get used to.

I will have a look at your site, I haven't had a chance to go round exploring yet. I did try using a tablet about...nine years ago I suppose. But where you touched the tablet didn't seem to be where the line appeared on the computer screen and it was all really awkward. I'm sure tablets have come on a MASSIVE way since then.

Mind you, I rather like using actual paints, I like the feel of them, and the smell, and even the danger of them, where you can't rewind if you bugger something up. *G*
