Simplae answer. Most girls actualy like the bad guys better. Especially the ones that actually LIVE. So Meta Knight survives even though hes a bad guy/ good guy (probobaly why they dont kill him off XP). Plus its just a bonus that he looks awesome with the mask but very very cute without it. That goes well with fangirls.
