hm, yes you're right... but it would take me so looong time!
because the way i usually draw and colour is the simpliest way you see. (but i like simplicity though)
But actually, when i imagine my pic before drawing it, it's always better in my mind xD
and when i try some effects or new style or whatever, it just takes me eternity. OTZ
i persevere in practising though lol
but my main problem is, background. Man i hate that xD too hard for meee ;A;

It's ALWAYS better in our minds and it should be the goal of an artist to put his thoughts to paper. Easier for writers and more challenge for us -.-;
Try to do that at least once, maybe you'll be stunned by the result in the end. Positively of course X3
Who does not hate backgrounds? They take longer than the main focus, are a pain to draw and often even don't look good! BUT! every (even half-hearted) background makes the picture look better. EVERY background. That's why we have to swallow it down and work on them. Look at manga, if there aren't any bgs, we readers start to complain, don't we? XD
