Description
Adins ears lowered, and a loud gulp passed her lips "Then I better get going." her shaky voice made the male laugh warmly, husky and deep. Kinda like santa claus.Adin jumped around, scared to death. She hissed, not knowing what else to do.
The male sat down "Dont be afraid cub, I am just passing through. I needed to borrow your lands water, and hunt is all."
Adin still backed away from him. Suddenly, Adin was pinned to the ground.
The male shook his head "Down Tilly, she isnt used to strangers."
A cub, a little smaller than Adin looked at her father "But daddy... I just wanted to play!"
Adin looked at the cub, realizing that a cub must mean hes not a bad guy. Adin smiled "Hi im Adin!"
Tilly looked down at Adin "Im tilly, and my daddy is Bruke."
Bruke laid down in the grass. "We will be leaving in a day or two. Tilly could use a couple more meals here. I hope you wont tell anyone about us being here Aden. Some lions dont like rogues."
Adin nodded, looking into Tillys eyes "I promise. I wouldnt want anything to happen to you guys."
Tilly smiled "Thank you... That means alot." Tilly got off Adin, and they began to talk
Tilly was not a shy lion at all she talked about everything, from her moms death in front of her by another lion, to how she hates being with a male all the time, and how roaming is fun for her.
Adin, caught onto her free speaking and told Tilly all about her life, even her crush on Mosi. They couldnt stop laughing until a voice called out, It was Kai.
"Addennnnn where are you!" Kai was not far off, if she came much closer, she would surely see Tilly and Bruke.
Adin panicked "I gotta go!" she took off meeting Kai
Kai hugged Adin "I was so worried where have you been all afternoon?"
Adin didnt want to lie to her mother, but she had to tell her something. "I was hunting a grasshopper when I guess I strayed to far." the truth, she just couldnt mention her friends.
Kai nodded "Come along then, We brought back a feast, Im sure your hungry by now."
Adin nodded "Starved!" She looked back, and continued on her way with her mother.
As the next day arose, Kai decided to watch her daughter carefully. she knew there was more to what Adin was telling. Kai was right. Adin led her mother straight to Tilly and Bruke. Kai, being a defensive mother jumped out of the grass, as Bruke hugged Adin. Adin screamed, and Tilly braced herself for a fight.
Kai roared at Bruke. "Get away from my cub!"
Brukes ears lowered, looking hurt and betrayed.
Adin shook her head "No mom, hes a friend! They are just here for a couple days. They have had hard times!"
Kai looked him over, he didnt look dangerous.
Kai picked up Adin and mumbled past her cub "Come with me."
Bruke picked up Tilly and followed Kai, back to the den.
Asante, and Marcus probed Bruke with questions. Finally coming to the conclusion they may stay for a while as long as they abide by their rules and did their fair share of hunting.
Adin and Tilly became inseparable over the next couple days. Adin even began sleeping with Tilly and her dad. Asim didnt mind, but Kai was not pleased. Her daughter was spending more time with these lions then she had with her since she could walk. Kai was somewhat jealous that her daughter preferred their company over hers. She was also worried about how Adin would react once they had to leave, and that would be any day now.
Kai shared all her feelings with Asim, all he could say was "We will deal with it when the problem is here."
And sure enough, it came. Adin and Tilly were closer than even Adin and Mosi. Adin and Tilly seemed like they had become one in the same lion. Bruke, like Asim and Kai didnt want to split the cubs up. "I propose Adin accompany us on our journey. We will come back by here in about 8 months time, When that happens, maybe Tilly will like to settle down and stay here with Adin for the rest of their lives.
Kai, hated the idea, Adin however loved it. Her eyes beamed with excitement, a friend for her to always play with. She wouldnt be left out anymore from anything! She bursted out talking about everything she could hope to gain. Not seeing her mother pain.
Asim shook his head "No, She is our youngest cub. Kai could not handle the thought of her leaving us, and Im not sure if I could either.
Adin, looked devastated, after all the pro's she listed, how could her parents turn her down? "Daddy, I want to go... Mom, please?"
Kai shook her head "Maybe Tilly could stay here?"
Tilly shook her head "No, I am all my daddy has left. I couldnt leave him!"
Adin turned towards her parents pleadingly "Please, I want to go..."
Kai stood firm "No Adin, your just to young..."
Adin screamed, then turned towards her mother and father, "I HATE YOU BOTH!" She ran off. Those words killed Kai, more than even Asim could understand. He just frowned, watching Tilly take off after her.
Bruke looked at the cubs "I-Im so sorry I didnt mean for this to happen! You know shes just upset and didnt mean it?"
Kai shook her head "Let her go."
Asims jaw dropped, "Love if you dont want her to-"
Kai turned towards him, angerly and for the first time shouted at him full of hate "I said let her go!"
Kai took off at a run back at the den.
Asim nodded "Ill go tell her then..."
Bruke nudged Asim "Im sorry... I promise she will be taken care of with love."
Asim tried to smile "I know, your a good lion Bruke."
The pride got to wish them off, all except Kai. Asante was disappointed in her daughter for the very first time.
She joined her in the den. "Why would you let her leave if you didnt want her to?"
Kai mumbled "Because its what she wants, why should I deny her it."
Asante shook her head "You wont see her... for almost a full year!"
Kai glared at her mother "No shit."
Asantes jaw dropped "Watch your mouth!"
Kai shrugged "Im just going to rot here for a while... please leave me alone."
Asante walked up to her daughter, trying to comfort her "I love you, she will always have her mothers love with her. You will regret not saying goodbye... It burdened me not being able to say at the very least goodbye to you."
Kai laid silent. Asante left the den quietly.
After nightfall, Asim was out. At the place Kai and he met. He was just laying in the grass, and he had been crying. Kai hurt him, he never thought she would ever scream at him angerly, let alone hatefully. A noise in the grass caught his attention. Kai had joined him, she took one look at him and bursted into tears "Im so horrible!"
Asim rushed to comfort her "No, your not... just angry..."
Kai shook her head "I didnt even say goodbye... And I was so mean to you!" She continued to cry into his fur
Asim kisses her ears "I know, whats done is done. When she comes back, Im sure you will great her the best way any mother can. I love you Kai, and forgive you." He then backed away from letting her rest on his shoulder, and put one paw under her chin. "But if you ever tell our child yes to something without me agreeing again, I will leave you. Families are supposed to make choices together... Especially something this important."
Kai nodded, tears still flowing down her face. Another noise in the bush, Mosi.
He walked up to his parents, with a smile. Once he looked into their eyes, his face became worried "Did someone die?"
Asim shook his head "Were just regretting letting her go."
Mosi smiled "Nah dont, She felt so alone here... I wasnt a good enough brother for her. She needed this."
Asim smiled, wishing he had his sons positive thinking.
Kai also smiled "That is a wonderful way to look at it, but you were not a bad brother."
Mosi nodded "I kinda feel like one." they hugged their son
Kai and Asim both sighed "No, you were not."

Awww So sad... Poor Kai... Hmm... Maybe when she has her other cub, she'll be happy again *sigh* And I'm a bit angry with Adin. No matter how much she wanted to be with Tilly, she should have talked with her parents first. I'm sure she'll miss them later, as Kai did.
