This looks like what I'm going through with my Walker filly... I'd been told she'd been ridden before... based on her attempts to dislodge the saddle (and occasionally myself) I'm not sure I buy it. Fortunately I treated her as an unbroke horse from the get-go since she's a little bit of a noodle brain.

aw, he's so pretty. i like em a bit bigger. wendi is at least prepared for it, it looks. does he act up a lot? and yes, it has to be the apps...billy and thunder are stubborn as hell and they eat like cows.

She was very well prepared, you can feel him trying to gather himself up on his haunches to lift his front end way before he actually gets up. He doesn't act up too bad, he's just never been ridden too much. His owners don't ride much anymore, and all of their other horses range from 20 years old to 32. Red is only 10, so he's the youngster at the "retirement center."

All the full apps I've ever known have been stubborn. I ride a solid half app (xQH) pretty often, and she's a sweetheart. One of the most trusting and best trail horses I've ever known. No one ever guesses that she has any app blood in her.

Wow! So that's where the evil eye comes into action... Lucky he needs so much time to prepare himself for these kinds of stunts.. Gives you loads of time to get ready for the perfect shot! Red is Beautiful.

I seem to have the only horse that doesnt! But, he also hardly ever misbehaves. Good old boy.
What a cute little fatty though.

oof. I recently went down to the rentals with a friend and got a horse like that--did a half-rear every time he didn't want to do something. It was one HELL of a work out compared to my docile little (*cough* yeah right) TB. lol. The first time my legs have been sore (from having to kick him) in a LONG time!
Red is a handsome guy...personally I like 'em chunky ^^ and Wendi looks like she's ready to snap him back to where he should be. lol
AWESOME timing on this shot

hehe, I was sitting on the back of her truck with the lens pre-focused and waiting for this shot - I knew it was coming by the way he was getting up under himself. We try not to let him get away with stuff.

well, it's an awesome shot! Lucky you were watching and waiting with the pre-focus
Your action shots are great; you always seem to catch the heart of the motion. I like how this one sums up the issue and still presents itself appealingly. Plus Red's just a cutie...even with the evil eye and a temper tantrum or two. ^^

What breed is he? He is fat, and cute. Funny picture, horse tempur tantrums make me laugh, as long as nobody gets hurt. :giggles:

he's a 10 year old Appaloosa. No one got hurt; Wendi had plenty of warning that he was going to rear up - he's so heavy that he has to get plenty of momentum and really get his hind feet under him, so she was very prepared for him.

Hes a beautiful "fatty" at that =]
The horse I usually ride at the barn I go to does that at times but since I have been riding him more and constantly and not random people ever hour hes been good at doing what I want.
