Description
An accompanying image to Of Ghost and Glass .The magnificent Stirling Falls at Milford Sound.
Stirling Falls is nestled at the base of the mountain called Elephant Trunk which faces another mountain called The Lion. At 151 metres in height, these falls are three times the height of Niagara Falls.
In this image, I have presented the base of the falls. The impact of the spray due to the falling water causes the illusion of broken glass on the lake. The prevailing mist adds diffusion to the image.
This is another image where I've double-processed the single RAW file; one processed for the waterfall, and, the other for the surrounding rock face, moss and the lake proper.

Both are great photos, but I prefer the other one. I think the lack of colour adds to the atmosphere.

Both of these pics are wonderfully atmospheric. Such a great place for not just phots but simple staring in awe.
Again, great work.
