Description Hi all,

Well, here it is. My first image from my partially-automated backyard observatory.

This image comprises 20.73 hours of data (exposure) captured over 23 nights in June, August and September. 10 hours of luminance, and, the rest in colour data.

It's been a long time coming. I travel 1.5 hours each way to work and back and by the time I get home, I'm so tired I can't even begin to think about processing images. I still have my 8-panel Rho Ophiuchus mosaic data staring at me waiting to be processed. It's going to take me a year to get through it all.

Very happy to see dust surrounding the main dark nebulae. I haven't seen it before (or, if I have, I didn't pay much attention to it). I am hoping that's a result of the ten hours of luminance that has given it some prominence.
I hope you like it.

Unbelievable! Β  If I didn't know that you took this in your backyard, I would had likely thought this to be taken by ESO. Great work! Β

wow, breathtaking work my friend! I'm really fascinated how precise these self guiding systems work. but you have to align all the exposures you got from different days before you can calculate the total luminance and color?

Wow. Being a backyard observer myself, I know how much work goes into producing an image such as this. You astro-photographers are crazy geniuses/mad scientists/just plain crazy . Hats off to you for such an amazing image! I look forward to seeing more in the future.

This image is absolutely insane! It's breathtaking knowing how many stars there really are in the universe and this is only a miniscule part of it. This is a beautiful shot. Thank you for sharing it with all of us!
