Very cool - how did you get some moving and some stationary like that?
About the contest, your rush 1 is on the description page as an example of abstract

ahh beautiful abstract piece. love it very much. the colors and the way you've combined the lines of light with the close up geometric shapes of the single points of light in the background really makes for a very appealing work of art.

This is a photograph of christmas lights outside my window. It involves camera motion and intentional out of focus. It's the same subject as in rush I [link]
Thanks for pointing out the contest. I did look at the submission rules and thay say that the submission should be for the contest, and this deviation was not.

Ah, very cool, a nice use of christmas lights
Pit about the rules of the contest, maybe it's something you could keep in the back of your mind

omg 15 seconds... no wonder the right part of the horizontal lines is a bit overexposed. It would have been better if you did the foreground and the background independently, in 2 steps, and fusion them in PS.

Thank you very much for the fav.
I am a bit sceptical about photo collages. I really don't mind the overexposure, that is from the adding contrast in PS and I really think it just helps the horizontal lines to cut through the background.
About the squares, yes I am hooked on the square format, almost too much

Hehe, funky! How did you do that octagon (I guess) effect? All I ever get with out of focus sharp lightsources is blurry spots, no angles. It must be something with the lense...

Octavus In reply to DimensionSeven [2005-02-26 23:31:21 +0000 UTC]
The octagon shapes are made from the aperture of the lens on out of focus lights. The aperture is also responsible for making star shaped lights in long exposures with small apertures.
