Description

Taa daa~ Third one of my list of characters is out, next up is a girly that goes by the name of Scorch.
So, might I introduce to you one of my particularly favorite OC's introducing, the one, the only Rec! Requiem for the full name. I have been planning on introducing this bugger to you lovely watchers for a long time but never really got around to it. He was one of my first irken Oc's other than Cyshkil to get posted here if I am recalling right. And there are quite a few little images of him running around in my gallery. Though sense this is number three on my ever growing list of OC's I am certain that you will get to know them all eventually.

As on the last few this is just a graze over of his information, not enough to spoil the comic my friend ~Alison-lynn and I are making, but enough to let you to get to know a bit about the characters.

Note: Rec's real full name is Requiem, but he goes by Rec.

Rec is a pretty complex character, and unlike my other Oc's I am not particularly sure what would be the correct personality to compare him to. In many ways I would say that he is a silly character, always full of life and rarely holding still. He loves to keep things in motion, and never waste time, at least that is how he feels. Rec's personality is rather laid back when it comes to work, taking his time on what he does rather than rush through the motions and force the ending results. And to him in many ways the ends justify the means. He is willing to a lot more than most as long as he reaches his goal. In all sense he is a chess player, even if you think you are ahead in the game, he is at least three moves ahead of you. At times planning even farther than that. Though that leads into one of his less tasteful personality traits.

He hates it when things get out of his control, while he may seem relaxed when it comes to stressful situations if something happens he didn't see coming it throws him off. He has to rethink his entire strategy which isn't a big issue in many ways, but say it was in the end game. And suppose instead of doing the predictable move someone instead takes a different action, throwing him off completely it can cause quite a bit of frustration. Might be one of the few times you can see him loose his temper.

Requiem is actually a usually very cheerful person, able to give a grin or a smirk for most situations. Though often times it's hard to tell if he is smiling because he is snickering at your behavior or because he is just being in a good mood. The ability to distinguish between a snide smirk and just smiling is basically impossible with him. Because the lines stand so close to one another.
One of the more bothersome traits for others that Rec just adores can be summed up to one thing. Practical jokes. He loves to prank people, whether it is hacking a computer so that every time you type something it jumps to a different word, or opening up a cupboard and finding a bucket of paint falling on you. He loves doing those little unexpected things that can either make or ruin your day. Its how he keeps his days full of laughs, even if it is at someone else's expense. You know the more I describe this OC the more of a jerk he sounds like, when really to me he is an adorable little monster
Rec can behave rather childish at times, either going from sitting awkwardly in a chair or whining about not getting his way. It can both be adorable and well annoying and times I won't deny he does amp up the childish behavior in order to pester people. A good example of that being in the bottom right picture of him pestering Vortx.

Rec is a rather distant person even with his jokes and pranks that he oh so loves to do, while everyone seems to know who he is, no one seems to know him. He keeps everyone and arms distances length, preferring to let as little be known of who he really is as possible. There are a lot more skeletons in his closet then most, and he would rather those not get dug up.

This can cause some trust issues for people when it comes to Rec, they know nothing of him and yet are expected to put their lives in his hands. You see Rec plays a very important part in the Rebellion, one that puts him in the situation of having to make decisions that can either save or destroy lives. In many ways to earn his position he has had to prove himself, there is something about this Irken though. People are drawn to him, perhaps because of his adorable face , many choosing to put their trust in this small Irken due to gut instinct when it came to what drove him to where he is today.

Though this brings me to a fun little matter, as stated before Requiem is a chess player, always thinking ahead on how to win the game. This also implies one thing, he is manipulative. The worse thing about it is you don't even know you are being manipulated by him, cause he does it in such a manor that he makes you walk into the action he wanted to lead you to. Instead of just bluntly shoving you in the direction of it. Makes it difficult to distinguish if a action he takes is to manipulate you or someone else, or just truly him being himself.

Something that is a real backbone for Requiem's character is one simple fact, his hatred towards the armada. It isn't just some disagreement between their tactics, or a distaste for how they have done things in the war. He has a pure hatred for them, and their leaders. The type of dark feelings that if given the opportunity wouldn't hesitate to slit the Tallest's and the councils throats. But only if it fit into his plans. While cutting off the head of the snake is his goal, he isn't idiotic enough to think that doing so would be all it would take to win the wars. No it isn't that simple. Everything has a place and everything has a time to occur. Everyone has a time and place to die, and if he doesn't think it is the right time for you he won't allow your life to be taken. Not yet anyways.

Now into the more physical side of things;
Like many people we all have some little things that can act as a frustration or a handicap. For Requiem this is temperature. He cannot and I mean, cannot stand the cold.
What might seem like a pleasant temperature to you can cause him to be in shivers. His bodies internal temperature regulator just doesn't work, which leads us to one of the items you almost always shall see him with. His blue winter coat. As you can see in the reference it cuts off just a bit before his knees, underneath that he has a thick sweater as well. The only time you will see him not wearing the said garment is if the heat of a room is on high, or if he feels like it is a nice enough temperature to risk it.

Part of his temperature issue might be caused by the fact that his body shape is a frail, thin body type. Rec is a small irken in all sense of the word. Both in height and in the way his body is built. To most he looks like they could snap him between their middle fingers with how frail he appears.
But what he lacks in his physical form he makes up with his mind. Rec avoids all physical confrontation. If he were to get involved with such would opt for jumping around his opponent and dodging, being small would be his greatest skill in that situation, for one punch and he probably would be out.
Rec is a great jumper, able to leap over things and change directions quickly. As you might imagine makes it very useful for fleeing from a angry irken or two *cough*Vortx*cough*
