Oh man!! This was a toughie to make! Anthony kept making us redo the shot because he wasn’t happy with it.

This photo, that we finally selected, was the one where right before we started walking Voq whispered this freaking joke in my ear. I couldn’t stop laughing, could hardly stand up cause I was giggling so hard!!

I blame him for my messed up makeup! He knows what he did!

This image certainly has been a blast to make! I tried a entirely new coloring style, and along with that spent more time then I have on a single picture for ages! I put almost 9 days of work into this baby alone, summing to over 347 layers! I’d say it was worth it by the end however. I am pretty peachy pleased with the resulting picture. There are a few things I’d change if I could buuut :I I’m lazy, so I’m not going to. <3
So then, the meat of this description!
This image is for the Space-Extravaganza pageant’s February theme: Love. In a way piggy backing off the whole ‘celebration of love’ that goes on during this month, known as Valentine’s day. Which I just barely missed the mark finishing this for. I wanted to post it on the 14th booo
Mette as stated in her original audition has a twin brother, Voq. In a way you could say he is the most important person in her life, her best friend, and due to being conjoined at birth you could even say ‘half of herself.’ These two are super close, sometimes weirdly so but before any of you start pointing fingers. No, just No They’d die for each other, but they are strictly siblings don’t get creepy internet peeps.
The twins are both big rays of sunshine, like ridiculously big. And they both tend to be oblivious to things around them when they are caught up in their own bubble of laughs.
One of the things about the time where Mette and Voq live, humans have changed drastically from where we are today. They don’t marry to start off. Sure they have special someones, but commitment to the government and their positions hold higher importance than pursuing someone romantically. Most humans don't even really express their affection outside the confines of their own homes, so seeing displays such as this are unusual. And can attract some bewildered, disgusted, or just weirded out stares. The human race became very conservative after the militarization of the species, some find that kind of outward expression of love to be distasteful. However this doesn't apply to the whole populous.
So the main theme of this image was, Enjoying the time you have together Sometimes it doesn't matter what the world thinks, or what they view your relationships. If it makes you happy, as long as it isn't negatively impacting someone else that is, go for it. If someone makes you happy, and you make them happy why should you not enjoy every moment you have with someone.
Sometimes those moments are so fleeting, its best to embrace them while they last.
Before they’re gone forever.
