Due to the fact that all his limbs are tentacles he was told he couldn't play the violin and be good at it.

Short back story: Oscar lived a very comfortable life with his very loving parents like most of the rest of his kind did. He was pretty normal other than his slight shyness, piercings, and obsession for the violin. One day he came home to find that his parents had been killed by human fisherman. This crushed him and still brings pain to him to this day which is now why he can be rather quiet most of the time. He was taken in by his great aunt who is very critical and bossy and he never enjoyed being home from then on. He couldn't even pursue his passion for violin as much as before because his aunt would tell him he can't become good at it with only tentacles.

How he joined the group: Sulking on the beach one day and playing his violin in the only place he could he attracted the attention of the rest of the group who had been passing by. It took a bit of convincing to have him join them but eventually he decided to give in and come along since there wasn't anything better he could be doing. Or so he says, realistically he probably realized that Cayden was kinda really cute so if he didn't go along with them he might never get to know more about this cutie, like wow.

he moves slowly since its kinda hard to walk using tentacles
Cayden usually offers to change her arm into a tree branch to carry him when they have to travel long distances
he kinda has a crush on Cayden
often shares Adeline's umbrella so he doesn't dry out.
it seems kinda weird but he's very good at giving hugs and likes cuddles.
tired almost all the time and rather lazy
only one in the group who's actually homesick and wishes he could go back home
his parents are now dead which and he lived with his great aunt who he doesn't like which is why he did end up leaving and joining the group
