First appearance: Sly Cooper and the Thievius Raccoonus (2002)
A millennia-old mechanical eagle owl, and the sworn arch-enemy of Sly Cooper and his ancestors.
While his exact origins are unknown, Clockwerk has hated the Cooper clan for their superior thieving abilities since the beginning of time. Thanks to pure hatred alone (as well as graduallly replacing his organic body with a metallic one), Clockwerk has stayed alive and preyed upon the Cooper members for thousands of years.

Much later, with the help of his newly-founded gang The Fiendish Five, Clockwerk murdered Sly Cooper’s father and stole the pages out of the prized Thievius Raccoonus book.
In 2002, Sly and his friends goes on a lengthy quest to restore the book, and after defeating the rest of The Fiendish Five, they find their way to Clockwerk’s lair: the Krakarov Volcano in northern Russia.

In a strange reunion, Sly has to avenge his ancestors and father by taking down this primordial, pragmatic predator. But how well can a modernly trained thief match against a methodical serial killer with millennias of experience? “Perfection has no age” after all, if Clockwerk himself is to be believed…
