Weldar from ”Banjo-Tooie”. He is a welding torch/vacuum cleaner hybrid, and a chief security guard within the complex Grunty Industries. He is near-sighted, but easily forgets to bring his glasses with him.
According to the regulations of the factory, bears aren’t allowed inside, so when Banjo and Kazooie enters his area, Weldar has no choice but to follow the rules and exterminate them. He attacks by spitting fireballs, jumping and crushing the duo, sucking them into his mouth, and summoning sentient tools to assist him. He can also turn on an electric field on the floor, making the fight harder.

Weldar is widely considered to be an infamously hard boss that has been giving players a lot of problems throughout the years. However, this wasn’t the case for me. While Weldar was slightly more challenging than earlier bosses, I didn’t find him too hard, and actually defeated him on my first try. His vacuum attack was easily evaded by standing in the corners, and the electric floor wasn’t too tricky to navigate across. On the other hand, the "easy" Targitzan battle from the same game gave me a load of problems, so maybe I shouldn't say anything...
I like how Weldar has an intimidating appearance and a rather "evil" color scheme, but comes off as harmless personality-wise, only fighting the duo because he has to follow the factory's rules. His battle theme is quite awesome as well, being a fast-paced version of the already incredibly catchy level music.

This piece was a bit tricky at times. The hardest part was to come up with a good pose with Weldar's long and flexible "neck", and even when finally coming up with the pose, the shading was tricky as the main light source is an intensely blue torch flame. It came out pretty well despite the struggle, but I still think I could have done the drawing more interesting. But that's a story for another day.
