Belle didn't answer; she was sitting on her bed, crossing her arms and wearing an angry-annoyed expression.
Ratigan scoffed; Belle annoyed, angered, and fascinated him at the same time: since she started living in his lair, she was never afraid of speaking her mind like she showed the rat professor that he might have taken away her freedom, but never broke her spirit.
"Well, I could let my boys to teach some lesson..." partly Ratigan lied: although Belle annoyed him, he would never let Fidget or anybody else to come closer to her, plus sometimes he himself was about to raise his hand to her, but his gentleman side (and something else) did not let him to do that.
"But I'll be patient with such an angry lady..." professor chuckled. "... after all, your anger makes you beautiful."
And that was not the lie.
Belle widened her eyes with indignation.

Well, sometimes fights happen (well, actually in this case, they are still strangers to each other as you can read above). What makes the situation worse is that they both are intelligent and stubborn and have opposite opinions about crimes.
