Description I thought it might be fun to create a pixel art version of the character from the previous upload. It's my first attempt at pixel art ever, so I think it went pretty well.

The interesting part was figuring out how to make everything legible while also not making the edges crude. Reading online helped a lot with figuring out what works and what doesn't - I likely wouldn't have figured out some defining principles on my own.

I'm pretty pleased with the colour scheme I came up with - 11 colours including black and white, and only because I went for three shades of pink for the ear/eyeshadow. 10 or even 9 colours would've been fine, I could've even foregone pinks entirely. But pink makes things prettier. It's just science.

I learnt a whole lot doing this one - including stuff I'll be able to apply to non-pixel stuff. Learning the maximum possible economy of expression is a useful side effect of drawing like this. I have an unfortunate tendency to get too attached to every single line I draw, and this was good practice at unlearning that.

(oh, and I gave her bluish hair, despite the previous picture having more of an orange tint, because orange and brown just would not have the proper contrast for pixel art. So there is that)
