An illustration for my friend save changes to normal's story Closed Break . It is seriously THE best National Treasure fic EVER (well...all her fics are the top anyway, but I happen to like this one best
). You should all read it and worship her. Worship her I say!This is probably my favorite scene in the story so far. Riley and Ben have just survived probably the worst night ever, and Riley's counting Ben's heartbeats to reassure himself that he's alive.
I don't know if this is draw Riley hurt and crying day or what. I'm pretty sure that Riley isn't actually crying in this part of the story, but it seemed to work for this picture so...
I started coloring it using really dark colors (that's why the outlines are black), but then realized it was morning not night, and that it was probably a relatively nice late fall morning. So, instead you get lots of shadows, because they're in a forest. Yay

Oh, wow, you weren't kidding 'bout the fics. They rock! I just spent the past hour and a half reading Closed Break, and it is one of the best stories that I have ever read.
I love this scene so much. Riley just looks like he really needs a hug, and then Ben is just like "I'm not letting go" and you really protrayed that. Nice job on this one!

Yeah, Kaley is pretty much the goddess of National Treasure fan ficdom, as well as super nice and humble. We love her, which I why she got fan art from me 
This, I think, will always be my favorite National Treasure scene ever. It's an intense emotional release, and you just want to hug the computer screen. It's awesome. I'm glad you like my portrayal of it. I wasn't even close to doing that part justice, but I hope there is stuff to like about it anyway.
