If you know what happened here, feel free to share, because I don't. I just had this image with that verse of that song, and so I drew it. I'd love any stories you have for it.
I think Lance looks to thin in the middle, which is a bit disappointing. If anyone has any hints to width proportions (like, there should be ___ head lengths in the width of the waist) I'd love to hear them.

The "thinness" kinda makes him look younger like a newbi teen or something. He's just thin because he hasn't filled out yet. I think he's CUTE!!!!!!

Tim McGraw. Lance's personality just SCREAMS, "Tim McGraw" for whatever reason. Trust me, I know. o.o Nice emotion there.
As for the width of Lance's body, he DOES look a little slender. Something I've learned is that width of the head should be able to fit within the width of the body. I've learned that about frontal views at least. Side views you can ABSOLUTELY get away with making them more slender but try FIRST making the body wide enough to fit the width of the head and then shaving down from that point. That way you'll have a good width to start off with as a basis and you'll be less likely to make the character too slender from the get go.
