I have friends like that, and it's really annoying. Somehow, I always attract this kind of people, idk why.
For example: I just got new cosplay, and them my friend starts giving me a lecture about how people will think about himself/herself if they know he/she has a friend like me.
I honestly don't give a single fuck if people think I'm weird. Don't like me? Then move your goddamn ass somewhere else instead of trying to put me down. I have enough friends who support me for what I do, and don't act like I am alone.

nah, it's okay. good for you. be who you are, the people who matter don't care, the people who care don't matter, yadda yadda. People are so self-centered in other areas of their life. So why can't they focus on themselves in this way too? Just do what you like and surround yourself with people like you. you can't please everyone, and if you try, the only one unhappy will be you.

Because, like you, we all have opinions. Some of us just like to voice them more than others and that IS OKAY. Some people are going to be more rude about it than others probably because they're sick of seeing it. Maybe you should pay attention to what people are saying about things you like (or, what is most likely the case, what the fans of what you like a doing with it *rabid fans FTL*) and try seeing it from their point of view. Remember, for the majority of the time, 80% of the populace are completely against something for a very good reason be it misguided or not.
