The anatomy and pose here is *stellar*!
The structure of the way it's bracing itself on the limb is wonderful combination of observation of real animals, and applying that to a fantasy creature.
Having studied Animal Anatomy while I was pursuing a Master's of Illustration, I will specifically say that this is the kind of posing I wish more fantasy artists would do.
It almost looks inspired by a sparrow sitting in a chain link fence.
But, it also looks like it could be an Archaeopteryx with less feathers, and more mammalian fur!
It's large, but, not so large that the young rider is lost on its back.
And with the lighting and silhouetting, she becomes the main focus of the eye, despite the massive beast beneath her.
Well done, Odobenus. Bravo.
