This is the first in a series of photos I'll be posting that were taken back in 2005 and 2006 from my visits to an abandoned mental health hospital in the North East of England, called Cherry Knowle.

Taken on my first ever SLR, a Canon EOS 300D, when I was still very inexperienced and learning by trial and error (I still do!).

The title I've given it comes from Beethoven's Opus 79: Piano Sonata No. 25 in G major ("Cuckoo") (1809), which may or may not be contained within.

Cuckoo, in the UK, also being a derogatory term for someone who suffers from mental health problems (don't we all in varying degrees?). Please note: There is no intent to offend, it is simply a play on words.
