You seem to have an idea of what you want it to look like, but I think your minimalism may be hampering you. Try going back and working on adding as much detail to the design as you can think of.
Even if you decide not to keep it, the exercise will help you in the future.
As for the more technical aspects of the art, I'm not an artist, so I can't really advise you. You have some creativity and you seem to like doing this, so I think you should pursue it while you're still young.
