Wow, the colors and clarity in the flowers against this sky is astonishing. Did you take this with a digital camera? If so, how did you manage to capture this spectrum of dynamic range? The sky behind the tulips looks still pretty blue.

Yes, I made the photo with a digital dslr.
I made the photo in manual mode to have good control
over the exposure while keeping an eye on the histogram
to prevent clipping in the highlights and shadows.
I edited the raw file: besides the basic edits (levels, curves...) I
reduced the brightness of the sky and upped the contrast a bit
to bring the details back
