Etymologically, the name “Porphyro” derives from “porphyra,” “purple” a precious dye for the garments of nobility. Also, a “porphyre” is a “purple-colored serpent” (867). There is also another strand of critical thought that links Porphyro’s name etymologically to the Greek for “fire-bearing” or “fire-beaerer” (See Garvin)
Nereide is actually from the French word/ship Néréide, and pronunication can be found here: [link]
English/American pronunciation would be NER-reid, with "reid" being pronounced like the surname "Reid".

I'm going to name her Mariposa, because I feel like the name Porphyro has something to do with butterflies and she is the Butterfly Prince's granddaughter. I think she's going to be more on the purple spectrum, but lighter in color like her mom and with lighter-still markings like her dad, and dark legs. mane and tail probably periwinkle. I be excited.
