this piece looks strikingly familiar to a piece done by back in may of '04.. just wondering if you did your own itteration?

Indeed, I did quite a few models based on that piece. That's been my inspiration for quite a while now. It's inspired me to go into detail, add those lines around the outside, and random things like that..hehe

To answer your question, yes...it is my own iteration.
