it doesn't really matter that i regard this as possibly the best photograph i have ever taken ..taken in melbourne, somewhere near spencer street ..

When I showed my daughter this photograph, she immediately knew who the model in the paste-up was! I was stunned.

Stunning. I love all the subtle patterns in the wall, and how the fabric has so many different textures. The straight lines of the barbed wire really stand out.

Also, I was curious, did you set this shot up or did you find it as is? (sorry if I'm stepping on toes here. I'm absolutely clueless about photography beyond whether I like something or not.)

no, it's not stepping on toes, as i truly appreciate comments that go beyond the usual 'cool' descriptors .. i didn't set it up, just found it as i wandered through the streets and laneways of melbourne a while ago. i'm interested in textures and shapes and colours, and how there is beauty in everything if we are aware enough to see it.

Yeah, those "cool", and "this is nice" comments, while ego-boosting, don't really help you get better. I know how that goes.
I think it's really cool that you just found it. And the beauty-in-everyday-life thing is cool. And I'm a personal fan of textures, shapes, and especially colors. So keep making more stuff. I love looking at it. (That reminds me, when I'm not in desperate need of sleep, I need to comment on more of your stuff...)
