I love this, amazing work! Β What substrate are you using? Β You mention rust, how do you achieve this, what chemicals? Β It's really interesting, I'd love to work into something like this, I love the colours. Β Very inspiring Β

Thanks a lot!
'Rust' was the title, rather than an ingredient.
I used white ink, dirty water, salt & instant coffee..

Inspiring Β Β I was going to experiment with coffee and I wonder - how strong do you brew yours for such a thing?

Thanks a lot!
It depends what you wanna do. If you want it subtle you can use regular coffee
It's like painting with washed ink, many layers giving different tones.Β
In this drawing I used instant coffee, really strong & thick, like 50 % instant coffee
50 % boiling water. Not suitable for consumption

Thanks for the information! Β
I guess the hardest part would be remembering not to drink it I tend to confuse paining water/ink with tea/coffee even without them looking and smelling the same

This is pretty cool and the tools you used are extremely creative. Β How does the salt come into play? Β I've seen it used a small handful of times but don't know anything about the process.

Thanks a lot!
Well, I used the salt especially to let the thing dry faster, I throw it on the wet paper
so it absorbs the paint.Β It leaves nice frayed structures & crystals.
I don't have much experience with salt, butΒ I have seen people doing great things with it.

Cool thing - the technique sounds pretty interesting.
If you are ok with it, I'm going to use ist as background texture for my comics. I'm sure it will look awesome.
