Description Edit 1/19/22: The personality section of his bio has been redone to further express and explain his character. He's still the same gentle giant and ultimate floofer, just hopefully now it's easier to get a grasp on his character.
Edit 2/14/22: Changed his inner-ear color to something much closer to the previous one since I wasn't liking how grey it was. Additionally, I added his badge to the back of his pup-pack since I went through some older episodes and realized that's a staple on the uniforms.
--------------------------------------
It’s my fluffy boy! Baby Byte!

Still, not much has changed even though his last ref was 4 years ago. I altered the colors on his uniform and truck some, but that’s about it. I was gonna make him straight since he only ever ends up with Everest, but there was no “love at first sight” kinda deal. It wasn’t until after they became best friends that they started dating, so I figured demi suited him the best.

I finally did some looking up on Canadian Inuit Dogs, I had no idea how large they are. Males tend to be between 60-90 pounds, these are strong dogs bred to fight polar bears and win. They also aren’t recognized by any society as an official breed due to how few of them there are nowadays, but the Inuit of Northern Canada relied on these dogs. They’re widely called qimmiq or qimmit, which is the Inuit word for dog. These dogs have quite a history and it was really something learning about them!

Like Tara’s, I got a little carried away and added some fluff.

-----------------------------

Name: Byte
Breed: Canadian Inuit dog
Gender: Male
Sexuality: Demi/Demi
Birthday: January 11th (2016)
Age: 9
Personality:
Very laid-back and easy-going, many that are intimidated by his large size are put at ease rather quickly by his gentle nature and caring demeanor, which makes him very good with kids. Byte rarely ever raises his voice, he’s rather chill and extremely tolerant. Even if he doesn’t like something, he’ll often put up with it as long as it isn’t hurting anybody or is nothing more than an irritant (such as kids pulling on his ears). When someone is getting hurt, he’s gentle, but firm, in stopping the behavior. He commands respect and is responsible, falling into the role of Team Dad. He’s lawful and mature, although recognizes once in awhile some rules need to be broken in order for progress to be made.
He’s often the voice of reason and the one others go to if they really need help with a problem. He’s sensitive and his calm mannerism makes him easy to talk to. He’s trusted due to him being so understanding and willing to listen while being good at keeping secrets. He won’t gossip about anything that was told to him in confidence out of respect nor does he want to burden others with his problems, he keeps it all bottled up inside. Sometimes he recognizes he needs to take a breather and will step away until he feels he’s ready to go back. Often if he’s really reached his breaking point, he’ll go spend time in private with one of his closest friends, Chase or Everest. Sometimes he talks about his issues with them and gets it off his chest while other times he just wants their company.
He’s intensely loyal and protective over his friends. He always seeks to shield others from harm and will push himself at times, although he recognizes his limits and is comfortable saying he did all he could. He gets injured quite a bit and often requires Marshall or Katie to help fix him up, although it’s usually nothing major. He’s rather clumsy and often accidentally shocks himself while working with electricity or loses his balance while dancing.
When he’s doing a task or working, he hyperfocuses very easily and often doesn’t hear anything that’s being said. He loves his work and gets so engrossed in it, he loses track of time and his surroundings. Giving him a tap on the shoulder will be a little startling and cause a jump, but get his attention.
When he’s not out on a mission, dancing or playing, he’s usually found doing a quiet task or loafing around outside. He doesn’t usually sleep fully in his Pup House unless it’s raining since the tight space freaks him out, but Ryder installing windows on the side helped ease that anxiety some.
He likes keeping things clean and tidy, from his tools to his coat. Windy weather and getting zapped causes matting and discoloration, so he often stops by Katie’s for a good bath and brushing. He loves grooming days and the feeling of a comb going through his fur. Ryder also appreciates him getting de-shedded, even though Byte often helps clean the Lookout.
Interests: Dancing, reading, chess, playing with kids, grooming, doing puzzles.
Fear: Tight Spaces (Claustrophobia)

Job: Electric Pup
Catchphrases: “Don’t be a stranger to electrical danger!” “This pup can light up a room!” “A faulty wire can be dire!”
Tools: A mechanical tool arm interchangeable with a screwdriver, soldering iron and pliers with wire cutters, and a volt meter.
Vehicle: Built to block roads and reach high up telephone poles, the truck has a lift on the back and flashing emergency lights. It is covered in windows to help it not feel so boxed up when in pup house form.
Vehicle number: 08

Alternate uniforms:
Coming eventually

Backstory:
Adopted as a puppy into a family with two young kids, Byte was brought in to be their protector. He stayed close to them if he sensed any danger, slept with whoever needed him the most that night and even let them play games like dress up with him, never uttering a growl towards those kids.
One day, the family packed up. Byte followed the kids around the house all day, watching them put stuff in boxes, not understanding what was going on. He curled up with the youngest child that night, awaking the next morning to find her gone. He frantically searched the house, finding it empty and all exits sealed off. He waited, but they didn’t come back, making him spend the night alone. The next morning, he was woken up by the sound of the door opening. Entering the home were men in uniforms who began taking the packed boxes. Byte took this time to dart out the open door, nearly crashing into the truck outside. He headed down the street and began looking for his family.
As time passed, his collar got snagged off and his fur became grey, matted and dingy from the dirt. He saw two humans approach him, after being alone for so long, he was delighted to see them. It was short-lived as a wire at the end of a pole was slipped around his neck and he was dragged into a cage in a truck. He curled into the corner, completely terrified as they began moving. The walls began feeling smaller and smaller and he started clawing at the door, desperate to feel like he could breathe. The short drive felt like an eternity, but when the truck shut off and the door began to open, he butted out at full force, knocking the dogcatchers over before taking off. He didn’t care which direction it was, as long as it wasn’t there.
When he grew wary of running, he found himself in front of a sign that read “Welcome to Adventure Bay!” It started sprinkling as a storm was rolling in, causing him to take refuge under a nearby tree. As he was drifting off, he began to accept that he had been abandoned.
A loud crack jolted him awake, the high wind snapping a telephone pole in half. The ground shook as it toppled over and Byte quickly got up to investigate. He bounced back away as sparks flew off the broken wires across the wet street, looking up to see the town completely dark. Spotting a car coming, he ran in front of the pole, barking wildly to warn them off. He watched them turn around and repeated this with anyone he saw coming towards the downed lines. As he went to warn off his next car, he heard sirens and paused as three vehicles stopped in front of him. He was wary of them, but was soon comforted in knowing they were there for the pole and not him. He sat with the boy and watched as the German shepherd laid out cones, hooked his wench around the pole and the mutt, while grumbling about the rain, lifted it into place with his rig, using spare wood to repair it. At the end, they let Byte flip the power back on and see the town light up.
They offered him a ride home and Byte, not wanting to go into details about what happened, claimed he was lost and was offered instead to stay at the Lookout until his family was found. He accepted their hospitality and got a ride with Chase. After some comments about his stench, he was dropped off at the town groomer, Katie, for a late clean up. The warm water and soft brushing was so refreshing after being a matted mess for so long, he ended up falling asleep mid-groom.
The next morning, Chase came by to pick him up and actually seemed surprised it was the same dog, being nearly unrecognizable after a good groom. After returning to the lookout, he got introduced to the other members, including the newest, whom was just a puppy, Rubble.
After a few days of unsuccessfully searching for his family, Ryder confronted Byte. He went into detail about his story, after hearing it, he was offered a role on the Paw Patrol as an electric pup, due to his interest in electric appliances. After being sworn in and receiving some training, he was ready for missions.
At first, his pup house was a scary place he made excuses not to go in. Once Ryder found out about his claustrophobia, he installed windows to make it feel more open. While it didn’t completely fix his issue, it greatly helped and made his house usable.
He was happy with his new home and friends, although he still had hopes of finding his old family one day.

Later Life:
After Everest joined the team and moved to Jake’s Mountain, Byte looked forward to times when they could meet up and hang out together. They began playing Pup Pup Boogie over the internet together, which turned into them meeting up at the Lookout or cabin to play. Byte often came up to the cabin in the winter whenever Everest needed help with anything and during the summer they hiked through the mountains, securing trails and just enjoying each other’s company. Byte admired her courage and optimism, she could always see the good side of a situation and he found her easy to talk to.
It came as a surprise to no one but Byte when Everest asked him out. The two worked together swimmingly as a couple, Everest came down to the Lookout some nights and they snuggled over movies and Byte went to the cabin where they had campfire dinners. During one of those nights, Everest brought up the idea of marriage. After a short talk, she ended it with her question.
---
Everest: So, do you want to?
Byte: Want to get married?
Everest: Yeah!
Byte: Of course, at some time.
Everest: How about two weeks?
Byte: ...Are you asking me…?
Everest: Of course, silly!
Byte: ...Everest, I’d marry you any day of the week.
---
The engagement didn’t last long as they were wed right away. They were the first couple on the Paw Patrol to get married and have pups. Their first daughter, Laya, was born happy and healthy, but their second, Mira, was born still. Due to Marshall and Ryder, they were able to pull her through. Byte and Everest had another name in mind, but considering the circumstances, they decided to name her Miracle and call her Mira for short.
After Mira had opened her eyes, they got concerned over how foggy her pupils were. After some tests, they determined she was born blind. Laya kept asking questions and didn’t quite understand, but wanted to help her sister in any way she could.
While Everest still lived at Jake’s cabin, she frequented the Lookout and Byte stayed up at the cabin a lot. Laya went back and forth between the places while Mira was stuck at the Lookout in fear that she’d walk off a mountain. She came up a few times under strict supervision, but for the most part she had to stay in Adventure Bay.
Due to caring for her sister so much, Laya ended up wanting to become a service dog for the vision impaired and Byte and Everest couldn’t be prouder. After so long, Byte finally had a family again.
