I was working on practicing lighting because I bought a lighting bookand this is what I came up with
Sorry about the lack of realoriginal settings for the pictures lately, I've just been trying to work
on my lighting because its looked like crap and for some reason
I end up with a lot of blur or noise -.-;;;;;; Meh, ....well anywho,
I hope you all like, Kassandra helped me come up with a title for it ^^.

Beautiful piece of work, I dig the rich reds and the control over the lighting. I'm not sure just how much you would have worked on it in photoshop but it definitely didn't hurt your efforts. Good job.

Lighting looks good.. but guess it does lose a little detail of what im sure is a great make up job.
Still very pin-up worthy.
I agree with Christman too, you would be great with a sword or something, and a cheap replica broadsword or katana would well be worth the 50 bucks as a prop... my friend has quite a collection now,as we buy something with a blade every few months to take pics with.
One word of caution, don't use a real samaurai sword.. Alicia still has a scar, damn they are sharp.

The plain white background looks excellent, it really brings out the fabulous red of the dress (and your hair too, wow!). It's obvious that you've been working really hard on the lighting - everything's so clear and bright in this shot. And I want the dress

only slight photoshop around the edges that didnt fully overexpose...it was basicly in the picture taking.

I really like it, the lighting is great. Do you use a light meter or do you have a built in one in your cam? The setting is also great, i'm guessing studio, but if you have setthe up at home, very well done...

omg this was hard.. no light meter at all.. and this was set up in my room(ive never used a studio). I had a construction light, bunch of light bulbs, a crapload of poster board and tin foil....other than that it was just a bunch of reflecting the light....I'm very proud..^_^;

well girl you did a great job. The lighting is perfect as is the set. This is studio grade work and you are going to be big afaik.

You could soo make this a kick ass Battle Pose with a few props...Daggers would be my reccomendation.

Thank you, i'm trying really hard to improve but I still cant get it right. You know in a lot of the pictures people do the model is very lit up and the background is pure white...? I just cant get it right. I'm always to dark..

see, i like it when the shadows are dramatized but the rest is bright. (I hate it how my makeup gets washed out) I also do love your style of photots, its gogious....I'm learning, a little at a time..I've only been practicing photography for about a year now and for a year of it i was using a a cheap 2.1 mega pixel camera...I just got my camera at the beginning of January.

ya know - the reverse can be just as dramatic - kill the background and focus the lighting on the model
all white backgrounds have the problem of being too bright, or distracting
No shame about a little crappy camera either

I do have pictures with the background black and myself all white 
And nah i wont diss the camera cause if it wasnt for my rents buying that i would never be into stuff today. I couldnt do half th stuff i can do today and the picures were almost always blurry... But your right

yeah, its frustrating with out proper equipment, where you can build up on... but it seems to work with your contructions as well

I used a white backgruond then put a white blanklet in the floor...I enhanced the brightness in the camera when i took the pic and i forget if i made the shutter speed faster or slower...>.> eh, then I just made a few touchups in adobe.
