Description
This is an emotive portrait telling a storyabout a girl who was married and is now
asking why?? Many people I know get
married, specially right out of high school
and in the end they are absolutely miserable.
My friend Kellie let me borrow the veils and
roses and I decided to take this pic right
after "self portrait" While I was taking the
pictures I thought of an old story about this
man who would marry women and bring them
to his house..He would then keep them and
treat them well but he would give them a key
to the entire house but tell them not to open
ONE door. The women would get curious about
their husband because he kept everything
secret and would betray him and open that door
which lead to a cemetary of corpses from all
his previous wives.. The exact story if i remember
correctly that I read the woman got away by
sending a message to her brothers... I wish I
remember all the tales and could keep them straight
>< It was a fabulous story and I will have to give
you all the full details once we stop moving and I
can find the books and read them ^_^ The dark
aura, the black veil and ring..the almost fake
looking grey roses.. It all adds to the effect and I
love it....I just HATE the scenery...Im getting tired
of white wall but thats the easiest thing for me to do
since noone send me props and I dont get to leave
the house often -sniffles- I'll sorry for the
repetativenesss!!!! As many people have pointed out,
the image could also be taking as a widow weeping for
her loved one... Both ways, I Love this image..
<3 please Enjoy

Well, actually another story similar~ in the Phantom of the Opera the Phantom lets Christine anywhere but one room...the torture chamber... in which Raoul was waiting. That didn't end well either. lol

I've read the story to which you refer, though for the life of me I can't recall where. Some book of collected horror I believe. That story, and now this picture, always serves to remind me of my aunt's house as I was growing up. Everything was antiques, and very pretty but there was an underlying menace of "look, but don't touch". The kids had the basement to play in, and weren't allowed through the rest of the house unless it was lunchtime, or our parents were there to pick us up...
As far as props go, you could always try pinning sheets and the like up to create a differing background. Not much, but it might help your impending boredom. Er, that would be your boredom, not the pictures- their always fun for us that don't have to live with white walls to look at. Er, I'll shut up now...

Beautiful photo as allways, and interesting stories to go with it.
I seem to recall that story about the man and his wives.. from a really old book, i keep wanting to say it was some sort of grimm fairy tail book, but there isnt anything supernatural about the story, just psychosis and betrayal.
As for people getting married too soon, I agree and know several myself who are in a similar predicament, it is so sad.
Anyways, thanks again.

It does show a lot of emotion. I know a lot of people who are all married for the wrong reasons and are terribly unhappy and some who married for the right reasons and are now miserable but say because they are too chicken to leave.... It also could be of a weeping widow but I think it represents the first part. Nice work!

Having spent time in the US Marines, I can't help but take a different view on this piece. I have been in combat more times than I wish to count and have lost many buddies. One of which had a wife that looked very much like you. After we had come home and all of those of my friends that had passed on were buried, this one Marines wife would visit him his grave every day. I would often go with her since he was close to me too. She would dress in her wedding gown which looked a lot like the one here. As a couple they were considered βGothβ. The style and grace in which her fashion was based dictated the mood of our visits. In this piece I get a somber feeling about the way you are reaching out to touch something. She would often reach out and touch his headstone. I like the fact that we the viewer are looking somewhat down at you in this picture. This piece gives me the feeling of standing off to the side as if being a witness to such a tragic and beautiful event. Thanks for the recollection of memories. I think that I will call her and see how she is these days. Thank youβ¦
