I'm actually posting this from my Hampton Inn bed, so once it goes up I think I'll be out. This weekend at Anime Midwest was great!! I met so many amazing artists I'll probably list in another post, and the vast majority of people who came to my table and talked were pretty easygoing and some were really cool and I had a great convo with them. Thanks everyone who came to my table, and thanks to Anime Midwest for giving me the table in the first place!

But I did earn it-- this is the full image used for their programs this year. I was asked to draw three of the staff members as anime-styled characters and otherwise was given total freedom for the theme and such. So since the event was on the 4th of July, I put the three figures in a Japanese summer festival setting with fireworks and yakisoba and all that. I would have fleshed out the background more but by the time I found out what the deadline was there wasn't really time to do any detailed work, so I did a blurry lights thing to it instead. I had the most fun drawing the Goth-Loli character, though her yukata also took the most time to draw, haha.
