No more whining about what you like or not in my illustration! I'm going interactive!

So, here's the test version, I couldn't give you coloured items as photoshop freezes way too often when I work on them, and I'll need to find a way to overtake this problem before going forth with colors.
what's to come?
+weapons (i.e.shotgun, crossbow, baseball bat)
+shoes(?)
+legwear (but I absolutely have no concept on new ones haha, please help)
+maybe gloves if I'll figure out how they would work with weapons
+maybe some sketchy backgrounds, to give her a little bit of a story
+male version?
+fantasy version??
+scifi version????
EVERY suggestion will be helpful, I mean, even if you don't like this flapping "tape-thing" attached to biker jacket - please, write it in a comment. Also, tell me what direction should I take with remaining items? resident evil or mad max? or something completely different?
no matter if you like it or dislike it, please, write a comment saying why, I'm really serious about this small project, and want it to be as perfect as possible

option to change the skin colour would be great as well (and maybe body type? idk i've seen it on a similar character creator thingie and thought it was neat), and someone else mentioned scars/wounds in the comments, i think that'd be a great idea.
the weapons and clothes are awesome! (i personally like the tape-thing tapped to the biker jacket) looking forward to further developments!

I really like this! I was looking for something where I could play around with the looks of an apocalyptic character. I like the hair choices. One thing you might want to add is an eye color and skin color option possibly. I look forward to when you are done.

Raising the quality of the actual images for better use. And if possible removing the gradient.

This is beautiful! A suggestion is adding backgrounds. You could try an ash covered-city, or maybe a volcano blowing up? You could also try:
-different faces
-maybe try adding in something with cogs (like steampunk)
-a pet (because humans can't be the only survivors, right?)
-optional dirt or wounds to put on character (they can't always be in immaculate condition)
-a full-face mask (maybe Guy Fawkes for fun)
Have fun making this though! That's the most important thing. Can't wait for the final!

I really like where this is going! The design is very nice, and I like the clothing presented. Out of curiosity, have you ever played any of the Fallout games? Those may give you inspiration if you're looking for ideas of what post apocalypse wasteland attire might look like. Anyhow, this suggestion may prove completely unnecessary with the addition of color, but is it possible to differentiate a little more on the jacket's details? As in, when a jacket has a vest or shoulder pads, make it a little more clear that that is indeed the case, rather than the jacket simply growing extra bulgy bits. As I said, this could just be the grey tones playing tricks on me. Maybe a long coat would be cool? Like a trench coat. And perhaps just a simple hood over the head, like one that would match the sweater/jacket that's already an option. For weapons you could consider spiked knuckles too. Finally, maybe some gun holsters added in the belts section? Like a thigh holster, or a strap across the back for the larger guns. Sorry if I'm being presumptuous, I really like this game so far!

love this your illistrations are awesome as others have said itd be great to see items before you apply them and id love to see long coats especialy in a scraggy roughed up style.... you wanted style suggestions? i personly love Fallout 3 you could add a few elements of that like raiders (which you kind of allready have) and leatherwear if you wanted you could add power armour and stuff like that. themes? rusty metal, torn fabrics and tough scuffed leather. love this so far will be back to see if its progressed sometme its fucking great

The design of the outfits and features are very nice.
About the only improvement I can suggest is the ability to change colors of the clothing, the hair, the skin, etc.

I really like this game, you don't see dress-ups with this sort of idea behind it very often. The artwork is very smooth and detailed. Man, it's just REALLY pretty art. The one suggestion I have for a dress-up this size, and the size it looks like you plan on making it, is the buttons. With a dress-up with this many buttons, pages with the items on them might come in handy for the user.
I'd suggest a Mad Max or perhaps a Doomsday approach as well, the themes seems to fit well with the one you already have established.

oh yeah, I'm planning to improve browsing between items, especially when I'll add more. Also, I'd like to add option to save a screen as jpg and maybe some randomize button as well, but it need much more actionscript knowledge than I have today

I really, really like this.
The art is wonderful, lovely and smooth and the overlay is simple, intuitive and non-invasive with the actual model itself, leaving your attention souly on the character creation.
The options are all wonderful, I personally think a little more sci-fi looking stuff wouldn't hurt but thats just my forte.

you might be right, but on the other hand, i think that if some kind of global cataclysm happens, it will reverse a little bit and surely stop the development of human race, so if we're talking about post apocalyptic theme i believe the sci-fi wouldn't fit that much

The book series "Uglies" is placed quite a time after an Apocalyptic event on Earth, and their technology far surpasses ours. It'd be something to look into.

I think I'd go for more of a Mad Max look than a Resident Evil look, just because the Mad Max outfits are more iconic and interesting IMHO.
If you can, you should make more outfits for different types of apocalyptic situations (as you certainly have already started doing). I also think you should do some more "normal" looking clothes, such as the clothes worn in The Walking Dead comics/show, for example: flannel shirts, boot-cut (not bell-bottom) jeans, pants/shorts that aren't so tight (although I love the ones you have), etc. I know you're already thinking about adding colors for the outfits and weapons, making a male, and adding cool backgrounds, but I think it would be cool if you could add different skin tones/faces? I'm not saying you should make a whole new avatar and figure out how to do the outfits and weapons for that avatar, but if possible, you could use the same body and skull with the option for different faces and skin colors.

about the model, I thought of adding some tattoos, scars, maybe completely zombie look, but it all depends on decision whether leave the overall look like that and add another 100 items/options, or focus on what's already done and continue coloring.
actually, I might just add some shading and maybe kind of textures instead of colors, it would be very time effective and would work better than gray flats.

the best description i could give is, they have many pockets and clips, maybe even some zippers, something that doesn't make the wearer look thinner but something that makes them look bigger.

oh yeah, you mean punk rock haha, well, i tried that with biker jackets, but it's really tricky to fit wide clothes together with thin clothes, i mean, if I gave her wide shirt, and you could choose a tight jacket - shirt would come out from behind. I could put some white masks to hide stuff like that but it would make impossible for me to add changeable background in the future. I have already deleted several items just because they couldn't fit every combination.
