I hate Mulan 2. I could make enormous list of reasons why but in short it's mainly because everyone is out of character, story is horrible and make no sense and animation could be a lot better.
Lately the princesses design have especially bothered me, how they look too much like Mulan. Seriously, same eyes as hers, same nose, same lips excluding Su and overall just bad rip off versions of Mulan with different hairdos. It annoys me as in original film there were a lot of different young women designs, which also were really beautiful. In sequel all young women look more or less same. Come on, Mulan's design wasn't the only pretty woman's design.

Here I tried to create possible looks for the princesses, looking reference from Chen Yi Chang's original movie's character designs and screencaps. Mulan's characters designs are quite caricatures, they have lot of shape and their style isn't so realistic as in some other Disney movies'.
Gang of Three is good example, Yao is like square, Ling is triangle and Chien Po is circle. Simple shape and nice characters. Yeah, I'm practically quoting Mulan's special edition, but that caricature style in characters is pretty much lost in sequel. Well lost in design, better way to put it remembering Ting Ting's laugh and Shang's angry face, the characters animation has caricature but designs don't. The new characters in sequel(mainly the princesses) tend to look too realistic or they're really similar to some original's movie's character. And by that they're quite dull, they don't have special character traits unlike Gang of Three. Them feel fake.

Talking about princesses, I don't actually believe they exist, I mean I don't think/believe Mulan 2 ever happened after original movie. I don't hate Ting Ting, Mei or Su but I don't particularly like them either. Also I don't like how they would end up with Gang of Three, I don't think they really match. I can't see Gang of Three as princes, and I don't think they deserve the pretty princesses. Like they would get exactly what they wished in original movie and I thought the point was that Mulan taught them that women are more than just pretty dolls who'd cook for them. That's why I'd like pairing like this for better.

Okay, it seems like I got carried away in my rant. Back to the picture. I mainly kept their hairdos and in some cases face shapes same as in movie. I actually like some of these.
I can't understand why Chen Yi's designs weren't used in sequel.

Well however, I had fun to redesign Ting Ting, Mei and Su.
