Hi! Long ago i saw a picture like this from another autor. I loved the pic and i decided to try this new piece of art. I've always wanted to draw a profile for my main character "Reef the Otter", and here it is
! I have another parts in order to complete the entire image, but i wanted to upload the main image now
and know ur opinion.I feel bad because this pic is inspired from another autor, i'm not copying anything just the design of the profile. About the coloring, i think it went out very great
i'm really proud of myself now. I'm getting a way better with this! and drawing faster than the first pic i made !I hope you like it!

Yes, i'm using photoshop and i used a lot of tutorials for lineart and coloring.
About this pic, i didn't use a tutorial. I just got inspired from a drawing of another author and tried my best to get the same effects that were there.

its like photoshop, almost exactly, but its a little bit simpler and its easier to find for macs. So its pretty much the same,photoshop is a litlle bit better though. Oh and gimp is free

First off, don't feel too bad for opying another artist. Everybody learns from somewhere - and plus, in the Sonic Fan universe you're copying THEIR style!
Firstly, I really love the background. The brushes and the faint picture of Reef really make it look something special. Secondly I really like the small facts on the sheet, such as the infomation on her hair. I like how you have added her height - it's really helpful when others draw your character, or you want to draw your character in real life setting or with other characters.
What I'd quite like to see is a back view of Reef, to see the details there, and a close up on her shoes. How you've colour her shoe to me almost suggests that the bottoms glow in the dark - is that true?
With her back story, be careful to make sure it's not too cliche - at the moment, her story is sounding very similar to Blaze the Cat's and Knuckles. If you're careful, you could make a very cool story, but if you aren't the story could end up sounding like a replica - not good.
The colouring's great as always - I like the almost glowy feel to the whole piece. On the side view with the shadow behind Reef's ear, I feel it's a bit too angular compared to all the shadows. It looks a tad odd. Also, maybe you could experiment at making the metal bands on her look more metalic, a bit shinnier? I love how you've done the laipslazuli though, it looks really beautiful.

P.S: she has light crystal balls beneath the shoes.
P.S: About the story, is very related with Blaze history. And I know she's from an ancient civilization like Knuckles, but i don't mind thinking that there are more ancient civilization like Pachacamac tribe (Inca), i wanted to create one like ancient Atlantis.

Yeah, shadows are hard OTL, but they look great when done right. ^^ Yeah, steel is incredibly hard to draw - I think as I said, just work on making it shinier.
What I meant was that when you look at the overall picture, Reef looks very smooth and slick. But when you look at the ear's shadow, it looks really straight and almost out of place.
I'm so glad it makes you happy, I love critiquing work and having it so positivly recieved. ^^
Light crystals? Very cool! 8D Do they do anything, or are they just for show?
I really love ancient Atlantis, and I see there is a bigger story behind her. Just make sure it doesn't look TOO much like Blaze's is all I'm saying. ^^

It's difficult to catch what are you saying about the shadow, but i think i'm getting it XD i'll try to repair that now.
Crystal balls are for swimming, her ancient civilization made it(i named it Moonlight tribe but now i want to name it of another way, but the fanfic is done xD... is too much work for change it). They work by spinning at full speed and water flows through them
I can understand that my story is very similar to Knuckles one, and about Blaze story i have read it because is related with my character. But i can assure you that has a huge backstory, and the Life Crystal mentioned there is going to dissapear because Master Emerald rules! In my story i have implied stories like the Babylon people, Blaze dimension stuff and even the Twilight cage from Sonic chronicles.
XD Anyway, she's not a guardian like Knuckles, she's only the mediator for her people

I only want to help you improve, and I can honestly say that you have been one of the people who have best recieved my critiques. Others always complain or make excuses to their character's flaws, and it does get very tiring after a while. ^-^;

I love the metal - it looks stunning! 8D I'd say just a tad too orange on her leg ones, but apart from that, great! ^^
And the ear shadow you probably will need to play around with. I can't really help you with that though.

I tried my best but when i make the second part of the pic (from backwards and the focus on her shoes) i'll probably find out how can i repairl my mistakes XD
About the ear, i tried to fix it xD
Ahh and about the orange shadows in the steel pieces i wanted to make that effect because they are made from orichalcum and that is like gold color but a little more reddish
