WHAT IS GOING ON?

This is easily the most complex thing I've ever attempted, this even has a background and everything. This also is the first thing I've done completely on the computer, no paper and pencil involved. Sketching with a mouse isn't too hard once you can get Gimp to work efficiently. I sketched up the four panels on Wednesday and then did the backgrounds and panel one on Thursday, and finished this up finally at 2 AM today.
Done for Week 33 of , A pony involved in an awkward misunderstanding (I got this done pretty early in the week too!

Why is scoots refrenced more than a chicken than sweetie/rarity a marshmellow

Because it's a running gag. The marshmallow thing was mainly due to looks, which people got over quickly.
Β The most horrible thing about this gag is that its saying Scootaloo is a flightless bird and will never grow out of it.
... It can be harsh, like saying someone born with paraplegia from the waist down can never walk, and make that into a meme, which doesn't stop getting referenced to.

I saw a similar comic where Rainbow Dash was talking to a tree, thinking it was Fluttershy, and then Fluttershy appeared.
Now we need one where somepony confused Rarity/Sweetie Belle and a marshmellow.
